Projects & Assignments

Scandinavian Care has since the start of the company 1996 performed a wide variety of health-related projects in many countries around the world. These projects are briefly described below.

Development of Health Care Structure plans. Scandinavian Care has performed a wide variety of studies for health-related entities such as clinics, hospitals, health ministries, and others, and advised on their implementation. Most of the projects have been sponsored by the World Bank or Sida (Swedish state foreign aid). The projects have mainly been carried out in the former communist countries of Eastern Europe and former republics of the Soviet Union. Scandinavian Care thus has a significant experience in designing national health care structures from a very basic level.

Development and Partnership in Radiotherapy and Radiosurgery Centers. Scandinavian Care has gained extensive experience in developing radiosurgery; a highly specialized non-invasive technique. This technique is underdeveloped in particular in Latin America and Africa. For this purpose, Scandinavian Care has developed a turn-key solution for setting up Leksell Gamma Knife Centers in partnership with local hospitals and physicians. Scandinavian Care developed the Gamma Knife at the Queen Sophia Hospital in Stockholm, and made a successful investment exit after a few years. This Gamma Knife Center is currently owned and operated by the well-known and prestigious Karolinska University Hospital.
