Based on the experience of previous projects we have developed a working concept - the Scandinavian Care Model - with a set of defined steps of implementation. The model consists of the following steps.
- To identify a possible project and make an initial evaluation of feasibility
- To develop the business idea together with local partners and compile a Business Plan
- To start the project
- To create a local Special Purpose Company (SPC)
- To secure financing - share capital and loan/lease
- To construct the building
- To recruit personnel
- To purchase and install the equipment
- To market the services
- To start up of the operation
Scandinavian Care has long term cooperation with partners such as,
- Elekta - linac and Gamma Knife equipment
- Siemens - other equipment, e.g. imaging
- Swedfund - financing in developing countries
The Scandinavian Care Model for developing of radiosurgery and radiotherapy Centers is based on the concept of joint ventures in partnership with local clinics and/or hospitals, usually by creating a joint local Special Purpose Company. In addition to Scandinavian Care and the local clinic/hospital, other investors are often invited to participate as investors in the local Special Purpose Companies. Such investors include,
- Cooperating financing partners (e.g. Swedfund)
- Institutions
- Corporations
- Investment funds
- Groups of physicians
- Individual investors (e.g. physicians)
